Welcome to GTLingo. Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. This Privacy Policy explains how GTLingo ("we", "us", or "our") processes your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Fully Offline & On-Device Processing
GTLingo is designed as a utility app focused on offline translation between Spanish, English, and Guyanese Creole.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your voice recordings, spoken input, typed text, or translation histories to any external servers or third parties. All translation modeling, Speech-to-Text (STT) parsing, and Text-to-Speech (TTS) audio generation occur locally on your mobile device.
2. Information Collected by Third-Party Services
To support the development and continuous improvement of GTLingo, the app integrates third-party advertising services. Specifically, we use Google AdMob to serve advertisements.
These third-party providers may collect and process information about your device, which may include:
- IP address (which may be used to estimate general location)
- Advertising IDs (such as Google Advertising ID / GAID or Apple IDFA)
- Device info (model, manufacturer, operating system version)
- Ad interaction data (clicks, impressions, views)

3. Device Permissions Required
To enable its core features, GTLingo requests the following device permissions:
- Microphone: Required to capture audio input for speech-to-text translation. Audio recorded is processed locally in real-time and is never saved or transmitted.
- Storage / Media: Required to download and save offline translation and speech models to the device's storage.
- Internet: Required to download the initial offline language models upon first launch, and to load advertisements via AdMob.
4. Data Retention
The app allows you to save translation histories and phrasebooks. All of this data is stored locally in your device's secure storage. We have no access to this data, and it will be deleted permanently if you uninstall the app.
5. Children's Privacy
GTLingo does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our local files. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
